Salesforce Acquires Corporate Knowledge Organization Tool Zoomin

Salesforce is pushing ahead with acquisitions.

Following its acquisition of data management company Own earlier this month, Salesforce today announced plans to acquire enterprise knowledge platform Zoomin, which we’ve covered several times before, consolidating company documentation, such as product user guides and tutorials, into a single portal.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Salesforce expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025 (January 31), subject to customary closing conditions.

Founded in 2019 by Gal Oron, Hannan Saltzman, and Joe Gelb, Zoomin uses AI and big data to help businesses build self-service document search and support experiences. The Israeli startup’s clients range from tech brands like McAfee and Dell to fast-food franchises including Burger King, Tim Hortons, and Popeyes.

Zoomin’s investors (including General Atlantic, Bessemer Ventures Partners, Viola Growth, and Salesforce Ventures, the venture arm of Salesforce) have poured $73 million into the company.

Rahul Auradkar, EVP of Unified Data Sources at Salesforce, said that after the acquisition, Zoomin will enhance Salesforce’s Data Cloud platform to support use cases such as automating customer service interactions by leveraging the company’s knowledge base.

“Proprietary, unstructured data is a powerful fuel for our customers to power their AI agents and customer experiences,” Auradkar said. “Zoomin’s proven expertise and technology will accelerate innovation in Data Cloud and enable our customers to get better value.”

Salesforce’s acquisition of Zoomin comes as the tech giant pledges an additional $500 million to spend on AI startups through Salesforce Ventures.
