The Rugby Football League (RFL) says that the financial problem of Salford is “damage and drainage of sports,” but the “only alternative” for the approval of the acquisition earlier this year is “the club very possible and immediate death.”
The consortium led by businessman Dario Berta bought a club in February.
This week, Salford has sold Captain Ryan Brierley and Jack Ormondroyd to Oldham and Chris Hill to Bradford Bulls and Chris Hankinson as a Liz Rhino.
13 players would have left more during the season.
Red Devils has signed a two -week loan with ST HELENS DUO CIARAN NOLAN and JAKE DAVIES between the many temporary recruits allowed by RFL to help the conflict with Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity this weekend.
Salford has depended on WEDO Finance’s external funds while the account is frozen, and was hit by a hearing that was delayed until September 3 last month.
‘The acquisition of Sapod was complicated’
In the statement, Tony Sutton, CEO of RFL, said, “The incident around the club acquisition in January and February has various elements that add complexity.
“There is no doubt that the process emphasizes the problem of the RFL process to approve this club -based transaction.
“But at this point, the only alternative that approves the acquisition is the very possible and immediate death of the club, and it is worth noting that it had a bold influence on the supporters who purchased contractors, employees and season tickets and the BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE competition.
“I also want to admit the huge amount of work that many people at RL headquarters who work with many others in Salford as a goal for the club to complete the 2025 season.
“This work continued every day, often this week, and I will do it again in the next week.”
RFL Best: Lessons I learned after Salford CRISIS
Sutton added:
“The key is that the club needs to have the resources needed to maintain the club in the elite competition.
“I attended a meeting of athletes and employees last month, and the main goal with my colleagues was to answer as many questions we could.
“We have deeply compassion for everyone who participated in the expanded battle of Salford this season and club supporters.
“The courage and devotion that players and other employees adhered to the club are the main reasons for the future with a brighter and brighter loyalty of the supporters.”
