Sam Altman disputes Marc Andreessen’s account of AI meeting with Biden administration.

Renowned investor Marc Andreessen recently spoke about a meeting with Biden administration staff, who said he would work closely with two or three large AI companies to control AI by blocking out all others through burdensome regulations. I got the impression that I wanted to do it.

Andreessen did not name OpenAI, but hinted that it would be a beneficiary of the effort. But OpenAI CEO Sam Altman dismissed Andreessen’s comments as a “conspiracy theory” on a podcast with Bari Weiss this week.

“I mean, we were in a room with them, with other companies, with the administration, but we said, ‘Here’s our conspiracy theory. I’ve never liked the saying, ‘We’re going to make it so that only a few companies can build AI, and then you have to do it.’ What we are talking about. “That never happens.” Altman said.

Either way, Altman and other big tech leaders are quickly moving on from the Biden administration and donating millions of dollars to Trump’s inaugural fund.
