Sandown Tip: A boy named Susie wanted to rock the Constitution River in the Eclipse crash. | racing news

All eyes will be on Sandown on Saturday afternoon when French Derby hero Constitution River sets out to build on Coral-Eclipse’s success.

After charging home to attack Chester, Aidan O’Brien’s Charge was held to a miserable draw at 15 stalls but still gave Aidan O’Brien top honors ahead of stablemate Hawk Mountain.

The pair return for Sandown’s premier Group 1 competition this weekend and will be competing against Gethin, who recently finished a neck behind Brigadier Gerard’s World’s Best Equine Ombudsman at this venue.

After winning the Tattersall’s Gold Cup for the third time, Saddadd will look to do two more good runs for Roger Varian while A Boy Named Susie flies the flag for Donnacha O’Brien. The King’s Gambit and Flushing Meadows will complete the field and attempt to set the race tactically for their opponents from Wathnan and Ballydoyle.

“I just disagree with the mayor and think the favorite is too short. There were only four lengths between them. A boy named Suzy And then there is the Constitution River for the Prix du Jockey Club, so a reversal of this form would not be impossible considering what has happened.

“The Coolmore gang got a brief respite from A Boy Named Susie about five furlongs from home (Chantilly). Although I fell too far behind, I took the plane home. He was quicker in the final three furlongs than any of his rivals here and the small field means he won’t be far behind.”

“Can any horse in this race win the Prix du Jockey Club in stall 15? No, that’s it. Constitution River It was like that last time, and he will definitely be the one to win here as well. He showed that fighting attitude to win against his stable teammates last time.

“They were drawn in a bad position on the final day so we had to dictate the race and he came back to emulate the winning St Mark’s Basilica for Aidan O’Brien. The horse looks set to take his 10th win in a Master Trainer’s race.”

Sam Boswell

“I like what I like Constitution River Here and on paper he was beaten only once. He improved with each start and Chester’s Vase’s form was honest as the Royal Ascot winner finished second. He was a smooth starter this year.

“Considering the way the race is going, I think he can win the race and chase down both pacemakers and jump in late. He’s got a good chance to show how good he is.”
