
Sarah Tavel announced 8 years after joining the benchmark as the first female partner of the company, and in X that she is shifting to a more limited role in the Storial Venture company.
In her new position as a venture partner, TAVEL will continue to invest and serve the existing company board, but she wrote that she would have more time to explore the “AI tools” and reflect the direction of AI.
TAVEL joined the benchmark after spending three years as Greylock’s partner in 2017 and Pinterest’s product manager. Prior to Pinterest, Tavel was an investor of Bessemer Venture Partners and helped Pinterest and Github sources.
Since its founding in 1995, Benchmark has intentionally maintained a small team consisting of less than six general partners. Unlike most VC companies where senior partners generally receive more management fees and profits, the benchmark operates with equal partnerships, and all general partners share and return their fees.
As a general partner of the benchmark, TAVEL is a time period of Campsite Marketplace Hipcamp, Cryptocurrency Intelligence STARTUP Chainalysis Invested in Supergreat. TAVEL supported Paparazzi, which was closed two years ago and supported the AI sales platform 11X for photo shoot app Paparazzi.
