Should Jimmy Kimmel be fired for telling a joke?

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel defended a joke he made at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in which he called First Lady Melania Trump a “widow-to-be” just days before the shooting.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is now ordering an early review of Disney’s TV broadcasting license after the White House urged its network, ABC, to fire the comedian.

A spokesperson for ABC’s parent company, Disney, told the BBC its stations serve the public in accordance with FCC guidelines.

BBC’s Regan Morris reports from outside Kimmel’s show on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
