According to the New York Times, about a dozen Musk allies have stuck a pin in Trump’s daily life to serve as informal advisors to the transition effort.
Among them, the outlet reported: Jared Birchall, head of Elon Musk’s family office, interviewed several candidates for a job at the State Department. Marc Andreessen spoke with candidates for senior positions in the Department of State, Defense, and Health and Human Services. Sequoia Capital’s Shaun Maguire considers recommendations for the intelligence community. Anduril co-founder Trae Stephens and Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar both spoke with Trump transition officials about their roles at the Pentagon. And entrepreneurs Mark Pincus and David Marcus participated in interviews with “potential Trump figures.”
According to the Times, Musk’s mother, Maye, was also involved in the transition, recently telling an interviewer that she “loves going to meetings” with her son.
