Singapore Airlines has been awarded the World's Best Airline by Skytrax.
This is the fifth time Singapore has won this title.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are considered the most trusted in the aviation industry. This year’s winners were determined by an online survey conducted in six languages from September 2022 to May 2023. People from over 100 countries took part in the survey, and participants were screened to identify user information.
Singapore Airlines, this year’s winner of the Skytrax Airline of the Year award, moved up one place from second place last year. Last year’s winner, Qatar Airways, dropped to second place. The other top five airlines were All Nippon Airways, Emirates and Japan Airlines.
“This award is a testament to the indomitable spirit of our people who have worked tirelessly and made many sacrifices to ensure that SIA is ready for the recovery of air travel,” Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Pong said in a prepared statement. “Thanks to them, we have emerged from the pandemic stronger and healthier as a leading global airline.”
Delta Air Lines is once again the top-ranked U.S. airline, coming in at No. 20. Other U.S. airlines in the top 100 include United Airlines at No. 49, Alaska Airlines at No. 52, JetBlue at No. 55, Southwest at No. 60, American Airlines at No. 82, Hawaiian Airlines at No. 85, and Breeze Air at No. 97.
In addition to its overall win, Singapore also led the Skytrax rankings in the First Class category, coming in second in Business Class and Premium Economy, and third in Economy Class.
