Former Scotland, British and Ireland Lions coach, Ian McGeeechan, urged them to be inspected after being diagnosed with prostate cancer by rugby players and all young people.

The 78 -year -old boy, now Doncaster’s RUGBY consultant director, led Scotland to Five Nations Grand SLAM in 1990 and supervised the Series with the Lions Boss in 1989 and 1997.

McGee from Leeds he said whole body: “I have prostate cancer. I just completed the radiation treatment for six weeks.

“Really, I really feel a little tired. Anyway, I’m always sleeping well anyway. Maybe I’ve added it. You have to wait six weeks. Then you need to review how effective the scan and treatment are.

“I said before the treatment began (in Doncaster), or because there were times when they didn’t start meeting or in the training ground with them (in DONCASTER), the players asked how it was going.

“I don’t want to do a lot of work, but it’s important to get a message about people going and urging tests. I told our players. I told them that they had been tested for themselves, more important if you were younger.

“When I was treated last, I said,” I all did well and good luck from the receptionist to the radiologist. All of them are very positive.

MCGEECHAN won 32 Scotland Caps, including nine Captains, and won the Lions series in South Africa before traveling again in New Zealand in 1977.
