Six babies died in the cold in two weeks, Medics says.

Palestinian medical staff and health officials say that at least six babies have died in the last two weeks in the last two weeks because of the lack of cold weather and proper shelter and heating.

A friend of a patient in Gaza City in the north, Benevolent Society Hospital doctors said that nine newborns suffered from cold injuries, five of them died and the other died.

The two -month -old girl’s family also said he died overnight because of the cold near the southern city of Khan Yunis.

PFBS Hospital demanded urgent delivery of caravans and fuel to improve the conditions of about 945,000 people who live in tents and temporary shelters.

Palestinian armed group Hamas accused Israel that he did not allow the amount of tents, caravans and other shelter products agreed during the armistice that began five weeks ago. Israel denied this.

Most of the 2.1 million population of Gaza has been replaced several times during the 16 -month war between Israel and Hamas, and almost 70%of the buildings in the region are estimated to be damaged or destroyed.

The medical system also collapsed, and some of the 18 hospitals in 35 hospitals were partially functional and lacked essential medical equipment.

According to the weather website, the night temperature of the Gaza has fallen to less than 10C (50f) regularly over the last two weeks.

Dr. Saeed Salah, a medical officer at PFBS Hospital, fell to 3C (37F) on Monday night after warning that three babies suffering from cold injuries, including hypothermia, died for the same period.

He said the baby was 1-2 days and weighed between 1.7kg and 2kg (3.7-4.4LBS).

On Tuesday, Dr. Sala and Dr. Samer Lubad, a pediatrician of the hospital, reported that another two newborns were killed.

Dr. Lubad told Al Jazeera TV, “In the last few weeks we have given nine newborns in the hospital. And they came with when they called ‘cold injuries’ or hypothermia.

“Three babies have survived, have been successfully treated, and were discharged home. Newborn ICU still has one baby in a common state.”

“Of course, this condition is due to cold weather, lack of safe shelter, shortage of central heating, and the lack of electricity in the strip.”

Meanwhile, Pediatrics at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said they received a two -month -old girl who died of hypothermia on Tuesday.

The video posted by a local reporter showed that a girl who was buried by his father and uncle asked the name Sham YouSEF Al-Shambari.

He said she was healthy and her mother found “stiffly like a tree in the cold” when she tried to wake her to feed her at night in the family tent in the AL-MAWASI area.

Dr. MUNEER AL-BOURSH, the secretary of the Hamas-Run Health Minister in Gaza, said in a statement that a total of 15 children have died due to the cold since winter began.

He also argued that after Israel began the armistice on January 19, he could not comply with humanitarian protests, including “medical equipment, heating supplies, tents and mobile housing.

Hamas previously said that Israel had to allow about 300,000 tents and 60,000 caravans during the six -week first contract.

Israel’s military, COGAT, said Israel said, “4,200 humanitarian aid trucks per week comply with the obligations to enter 4,200 humanitarian aid trucks per share.”

“Based on the data we can use, hundreds of thousands of tents have entered the Gaza District after the agreement was fermented.”

The uncertainty about whether the first stage of the transaction is expected to expire will continue last Saturday.

On Sunday, Israel accused the use of hostages cynically for propaganda by postponing 10 hostages transferred by Hamas and the release of about 600 Palestinian prisoners and prisoners in return.

Hamas said Israel has criticized the “obvious” violation of this contract, and the indirect story of further stages, including the second stage of the contract, is a conditional for the prisoners who have been released.

The Israeli army started a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to unprecedented borders on October 7, 2023, and about 1,200 people were killed and 251 hostages were held.

According to the territory, at least 48,348 people have died in Gaza.
