
Smithsonian Journeys has announced new travel plans for 2027, including river cruises, active excursions and special eclipse trips.
The travel agency will be offering new trips around the world, including its Living In collection and cultural stays.
The new travel product includes three eclipse viewing itineraries, guiding guests to the best locations to view the 2027 total solar eclipse. Smithsonian Journeys will offer a Nile River cruise in Egypt, a Ponant Explorations cruise along the Iberian Peninsula, and a week-long trip to Spain, all of which are expected to have views of the eclipse.
The operator has also added itineraries to its Living In and Cultural Stays collections, along with a week-long itinerary to Denmark. an art history-focused itinerary in Paris and Madrid; And a 23-day trip to the Greek islands.
Living on the Greek Islands: Poros Accommodation Itineraries are designed to help travelers immerse themselves in the destination and experience it like a local during an extended stay. Highlights of the itinerary include attending lectures by Greek history experts, exploring iconic sites such as Athens and the Acropolis, and visiting the ancient ruins of Mycenae.
Smithsonian Journeys also plans to operate two river cruises with AmaWaterways in France and the Mekong River next year.
