Spaniards throw flour, eggs and firecrackers in mock battle.

The Spanish town of Ibi is covered in flour and eggshells during the annual food fight festival ‘Els Enfarinats’.

Every year, participants wear military uniforms and stage a fake coup using eggs, flour, and firecrackers.

Eggmen go around asking locals for “taxes” (donations to charity), which can end up being a big hit if you don’t pay them.

Held in the province of Alicante, this festival has a history of over 200 years and is held every year on December 28 to coincide with the Day of the Innocents, Spain’s equivalent of April Fool’s Day.
