Plex, a streaming service and software manufacturer, is raising the price. The company announced its first price hike in 10 years of premium subscription service PLEX PASS on Wednesday. This provides a variety of additional features, such as offline access, themes, hardware transcoding and other advanced settings. This service is now from $ 4.99 to $ 4.99 to $ 6.99.
The annual cost will also increase from $ 39.99 to $ 69.99, while the Lifetime Plex Pass increases from $ 119.99 to $ 249.99. Changes will be held on April 29 and will be provided for a few more weeks to lock the PLEX pass at a lower speed ahead of the price hike for a few more weeks.
Plex has announced the news with the news on the remote regeneration of personal media, removing the “mobile lock” commission, and the Personal Information Protection Policy and Service Terms of PLEX.
In the latter case, the company emphasized that it will not share or sell user data related to the title of personal media, media libraries or the use of personal media servers. However, the new policy explains how the user data sharing of Plex has been changed to include PLEX activities according to the user’s account vision and activity settings. It also explains more clearly how to share or sell data, including Plex’s use for advertising purposes.
The new policy applies to those who create PLEX accounts after Thursday. Existing users will later be asked to agree to the new terms and conditions.
Meanwhile, Plex said price fluctuations will allow people who use Plex to manage subscriber support costs and personal media collections. This includes PLEX plans for new features, such as integration with Common Sense Media, and provides evaluation and reviews to parents to PLEX pass holders.
Plex is also working in the Open API for serious integration with new server management apps for web and mobile.
These changes have repeatedly raised their subscriptions following other paid streaming services such as Netflix, Spotify, Hulu, Disney+, and YouTube TV.
The other two small updates are also available to Plex users.
Once, the PLEX media server will abandon the one -time activation fee necessary to eliminate a one -minute playback limit for streaming content with a mobile device of iOS or Android. If a new mobile flex experience is released on mobile, no further fees are required.
Another change is that remote playback on personal media becomes a paid function instead of free. PLEX users quote the need for “more resources” to upgrade to PLEX pass subscriptions or use a new remote watch pass subscription. This is better for those who do not run their own server but want to stream from families or friends who are not subscribers. The new subscription also does not require all the privileges that the entire Plex pass subscription is provided, but it can appeal to those who do not need all the privileges to select functions such as remote playback and Skip Intro and Skip Credits.
Subscribe to remote surveillance pass starts on April 29 with an introductory price of $ 1.99 per month or $ 19.99 per year.
The blog post said, “These changes have not been made lightly, and we have spent a lot of time in the next few years to maintain the best personal media experience and value in our class.
