Superga, Chan Luu, Patagonia – Permanent Style

Every issue of the magazine includes a list of items the team expects to wear and purchase in the coming season. Here’s a little sneak peek of this issue. We always include a guest contributor, this time it was French creator and stylist Cléa Carlier (above).

Manish’s seersucker suit waiting for its owner

Manish Puri, Deputy Editor

Top of wish list:

I’m traveling to Japan for the first time this spring and one of the things I’m most looking forward to (aside from the food) is visiting shoemaker Seiji McCarthy and commissioning a pair of MTM shoes.

Looking forward to wearing:

New York tailor Ralph Fitzgerald has gone from strength to strength since we first met in 2024. His first suit, the vintage navy wool seersucker DB (above), is almost ready and will be worn to every event this summer.

Favorite spring/summer clothes:

Guayabera from Mérida Catave, espadrilles from Barcelona’s La Manual Alfagatera, and ice-cold beers brewed in the countries I’m lucky enough to spend my holidays in.

Elliot’s favorite suitcase

Elliot Hammer, creative director

Top of wish list:

This ticket will take you to Spain for 1-2 weeks. I’m looking forward to good food and beautiful countryside. I’m planning on taking my trusty Patagonia Black Hole Duffel (40L is sufficient for the above). All I need now is a pair of sandals…

Looking forward to wearing:

Real McCoy’s Cotton Pile Skipper came into my closet on the last day of summer. Roll in terry cloth.

Favorite spring/summer clothes:

Living in New York, I’ve reached a point in my life, both in terms of age and geography, where it makes sense to dress like a Sopranos character. Discover vintage short-sleeved shirts, tailored pants, 1-inch belts, and loafers. Bada bing, bada boom.

Clea’s preferred DB cut

Klee Callier, Creator and stylist @classic_nonchalance

Top of wish list:

Alessandro Gasparini ‘Mocasso’ loafers in chocolate brown suede. The white stitching on the top is a definite reminder of the shoe’s Native American origins, and of course, it’s a very low cut, as you’ll find more excuses to show off your socks. Wear it with baggy jeans, a nice pink Shetland jumper, a film camera full of landscape photos and some blurry clothes.

Looking forward to wearing:

Lovely tobacco linen double-breasted suit from Fratelli Mocchia di Coggiola. However, since I want to dress up the shoulder area, I honestly like the adventurous wide leg spread (27cm). It’s currently in production, but you can see inspiration for the cut above.

Favorite summer clothes:

Spring in the part of France where I live is quite cool in the mornings and evenings, but warm in the afternoons. So I’d like to buy a wool knit long-sleeved polo shirt, collar-up, silk scarf, and an old navy blazer and gray pants combo from William Crabtree or John Smedley (although the gray pants can easily be replaced with light wash jeans). It’s very comfortable, very simple, and perfectly suited for a walk through a sunny park with my guitar and wife after work. They don’t fit well because I don’t want to ruin my super 130 pants by sitting in the grass.

#1 on Stone Island’s Lucas Wishlist

lucas nicholson, publisher

Top of wish list:

A lightweight Harrington jacket, we’re currently eyeing Stone Island’s sand-colored ‘Smerigliato’ model. Stone Island’s unique recycled nylon tera and garment dyeing. It’s also possible that it’s a custom-made product from Korean brand Jack Fort.

Looking forward to wearing:

During the summer, I often add more jewelry to my outfits. I received a red beaded necklace from Chan Luu last summer, and I really enjoyed using it to add some extra color.

Favorite spring/summer clothes:

People often associate Ivy style with fall/winter, but I think it’s an underrated summer look. Wide leg, pleated chino shorts, a boxy oxford shirt with large pockets, white canvas trainers on the feet, leather fisherman sandals or deck shoes, and all finished with sunnies. It’s one of my favorite summer looks, clean and smart enough to handle the city and the weather.

Superga 1925

Simon Crompton, editor

Top of wish list:

Cropped Hermes jacket made of wool gabardine. I recently saw this blouson for Spring/Summer 2026, and it’s the perfect summer blouson in a light mushroom color. Of course it’s expensive, but there’s a reason it’s called a wish list, right?

Looking forward to wearing:

Superga 1925 canvas sneakers (above). Although at the opposite end of the price spectrum, this special edition Superga released last year was a beautifully simple sneaker in pure canvas and priced at just £125. Fingers crossed they bring it back for others.

Favorite spring/summer clothes:

Tailored but fairly wide comfortable linen pants, t-shirt and PS linen overshirt. It’s chic, simple and cool (like fresh – I’m British and I would never say I look good).
