Despite communications restrictions, the BBC was able to speak to several Iranians who opposed the government and initially did not oppose military action against the Islamic Republic. Especially after another attempted uprising and nationwide protests were crushed in the deadliest crackdown on protests in the history of the Islamic Republic.
