Australia's Josh Hazlewood said knocking England out of the T20 World Cup would be “in not only our best interests but everyone else's best interests” after they beat Namibia.

Australia's final Group B match against Scotland in St Lucia on Saturday could now decide England's fate, and captain Jos Buttler knows they will need to beat Oman and Namibia in their remaining group matches.

“In this tournament you will potentially be facing England again at some stage and, as I said, they are probably one of the few best teams on the day – T20 cricket.” Hazlewood said.

“If we can get them out of the tournament, it’s probably in our best interest as well as everyone else’s.

“It’s a weird thing to say. I’ve never been in this position before as a team. I don’t think so. Either we debate it or we don’t, or we just try to play the way we did tonight. Again, that’s me. “It’s up to the people.”
