According to CNBC, TEMU is adding about 145%of the “import fee” in response to President Donald Trump’s tariffs, CNBC reported.
The fee is more expensive than the product purchased by the US consumer, and in some cases, the standard order price doubles. For example, CNBC found that the summer dress costs sold in TEMU for $ 18.47 cost $ 44.68 after $ 26.21 for imports.
Shein also hikes the price, but does not implement the import fee.
TEMU and Shein were moved a few weeks after a few weeks of warning that they would raise the price of US customers in response to tariffs from April 25.
