
Bob Arum has teased a blockbuster showdown between Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney if the WBO super lightweight champion defends his title this weekend.
Lopez (20-1 (13)) successfully defended his belt for the second time against Steve Claggett (38-7-2 (26)) in Miami on the 2nd. Sky Sports Action and Main Event As of 2am, promoter Arum is already anticipating the American's next move.
A clash with compatriot Haney (31-0(15)), who was designated 'champion on recess' by the WBC following his fight with Ryan Garcia last April, is one of those potentially mouth-watering fights. -Three Boys defeated Canadian challenger Claggett.
“There are a lot of 140-pound champions that would give a really good fight to Lopez,” Arum said. Sky Sports.
“There’s Devin Haney. He and Haney are going to have a great fight.
“There's a lot of action in this weight class and if Teofimo gets through, he'll have a lot of big fights ahead of him.”

“I want to see Shakur’s truly best performance.” Arum said. “It’s an exciting fight.
“I know he can go in and beat anybody if he pecks, but that doesn’t entertain people and professional boxing is part of the entertainment, so I hope he has an entertaining fight.
“The lightweight division is ready. Tank Davis scored another knockout over Frank Martin in a very exciting fight. Lomachenko now has one of the lightweight titles and he and Davis will be in a huge fight.
“There is a lot of activity in that division and the fighters seem ready to fight each other.”
