Tesla announced in a social media post that it would expand its robotaxi service to Dallas and Houston.
The post simply states, “Robotaxi is now available in Dallas and Houston🤠” and includes a 14-second video showing a Tesla vehicle driving without a human monitor or front-seat driver.
The company currently offers robotaxi services in three cities in Texas, after launching in Austin last year and beginning to offer rides without a safety driver in January 2026. Tesla said in a February filing that its Austin robotaxi has been involved in 14 crashes since its launch.
Additionally, the San Francisco Bay Area offers more limited ride-hailing services with human drivers.
Tesla may not have many vehicles on the road in these new markets yet. Crowdsourced data from the Robotaxi Tracker website registers only one vehicle in each city (compared to 46 active vehicles logged in Austin).
