England have made one change to their line-up for the crucial third Ashes Test. Josh Tongue replaced Gus Atkinson in the Adelaide game, a vital win for the team.
This means Surrey all-rounder Will Jacks retains his place as the designated spinner and there is no place for Shoaib Bashir again.
Atkinson was dropped after managing just three wickets at 78.66, with Tongue returning to the line-up.
He was England’s leading wicket-taker against India in the summer and took five in the only previous Ashes Test at Lord’s in 2023, dismissing Steve Smith in every innings.
Brendan McCollum’s side are 2-0 down in the five-match series after eight-wicket defeats in Perth and Brisbane, but the often batsman-friendly Adelaide Oval surface could help the tourists bounce back when the next match begins on Wednesday.
