The son of a British couple, who was detained by the Taliban five months ago, was afraid to die in prison.
The 80 -year -old Peter Reynolds and 76 -year -old Barbie were arrested and arrested on February 1.
Jonathan Reynolds, their son, had been suffering from serious convulsions, and his mother suffered from “paralysis” from anemia and malnutrition.
The reason why they were detained is unknown An official from the Taliban said in February that the BBC A Group plans to release the couple “as soon as possible.”
The United Nations also warned that it could be destroyed under such sincere conditions, “in such a worsening condition,” which calls detention “inhuman enemies.”
Reynolds said it took five months of “terrible and surreal” for five months to wait for the release of parents who lived in Afghanistan for 18 years.
One of the projects was associated with training women and children, and was approved by local authorities despite the fact that women could not work for girls aged 12 or older and could not work.
Reynolds said his parents were held under harsh conditions, including the maximum security prison, despite the fact that they were “being considered innocent and accused” by the judge.
“Dad was tied to murderers and criminals,” he told the TODAY Program of BBC Radio 4.
The couple said on June 15 when they were in contact with their children, “How bad are your health.”
“Dad’s health is particularly deteriorating.”
“Now he’s probably got something like the early Parkinson’s progress, the right side of his body, and shaking his arm and face.”
He added, “I spent 30 minutes from the floor of the prison before he asked for a prison guard to move his father to the” mattress pad on the floor. “
Mrs. Reynolds added, “Blue hands and feet that are related to Martialyan and malnutrition do not receive the right medical care.”
Reynolds did not know the exact position of his parents and said, “I was not sure that the demand for release was made immediately.”
“Every week we wait for 2-3 days now…
“Every week we heard that. And they are still in jail.”
But he thanked the Foreign Ministry (FCDO) for the level of communication with the family.
The couple were both trapped in their birthdays and commemorated their 55th anniversary last week. They married in Kabul in 1970.
Reynolds said: “Thank you together, but it’s definitely not free.”
Similarly, the United Nations warned that a pair of health was rapidly decreasing on Monday, and questioned why they were listed.
“If you can’t access appropriate medical services, they are at risk of irreversible damage or death,” he read a statement from the UN human rights institution, which required immediate transfer to private hospitals.
“We have no reason for this older couple to be detained at all, and we have asked to immediately review the basis of detention.
“If you are trapped in such sincere conditions and if your health is broken, it is inhumane to worry more.”
It added that it raised the case of a couple between the Taliban and the United Kingdom.
Abdul Mateeni of the Taliban said in February, “A series of considerations are being considered, and we will try to release as soon as possible after evaluation.”
FCDO approached for response.
The United Kingdom closed the embassy in Kabul and withdrew diplomats in 2021 after the Taliban returned to power.
FCDO says that Afghanistan’s support for British people is “very limited” and advises them to travel to all countries.
