The FDA is warning seafood importers who fail to ensure their overseas processing meets HACCP standards.

As part of its enforcement efforts, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sends warning letters to agencies under its jurisdiction. Some letters are not posted publicly until weeks or months after they are sent. Employers must respond to the FDA warning letter within 15 days. Warning letters are often not issued until the company has had months or years to resolve the problem. Typically, parts of the letter are redacted so that they cannot be viewed by the public.
