Dramatic video captures the moment a hybrid car exploded into a massive fireball in Lower Manhattan Tuesday afternoon, sending New Yorkers scrambling for safety.
This happened just outside the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) headquarters, close to Wall Street’s iconic Charging Bull statue.
Videos circulating online show thick black smoke covering the streets.
According to ABC News, firefighters responded to the incident at approximately 17:42 EDT and extinguished the fire in about an hour.
No injuries were reported. This accident is under investigation, but is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
