Lux, which makes the iPhone camera app Halide, released a roadmap on Monday detailing the next version of the app, called Halide Mark III, which will be released next year.
The company says the Halide Mark III will come with two new features: Color Grades and its own High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography. The company plans to include color grading or filters that will make images look like they were shot with a film camera. Video app Kino already has a similar feature.
Additionally, the app will be redesigned to incorporate new features into the UI. Notably, Lux launched the Halide Mark II in 2020.
Over the past few years, Lux has developed its own algorithms for many of Halide’s features, including ultra-high resolution for macro photography and a no-processing mode that doesn’t post-process the photos as much as possible.
The company has also launched a Discord server for the community, and will post a Testflight link where you can try to get early access to Halide Mark III before it’s released.
