Texas’s police are looking for a person who says that he was released from prison by mistake to sentence seven years in prison.
The Harris County Sheriff’s office said Tori Dugas, 36, was sentenced to five years in prison for assaulting his family and was sentenced to two years to avoid arrest.
Instead, DUGAS, which was in Harris County Prison for other charges that was prosecuted from Thursday, was released at 04:30 on Sunday.
The sheriff said in a prison that “thorough investigation” is in progress to determine the “wrong release” reason.
The office seems to have not documented his main prison in his file. It led to the assumption that Dugas was eligible for release.
Jason Spencer spokesman was cited by Houston Chronicle. Prison quoted that Dugas was missing when officials confirmed the list of people who would be transferred to the custody by Monday morning.
When the police found Dugas, they asked the public to contact.
This is not the first time Harris County has made a mistake by mistake.
Earlier this year, a man arrested for murder of the capital was confused by another person with the same name and was released from prison. But the man turned himself after gaining freedom for 24 hours.
