Private island in the middle of the Exumas

Fowl Cay’s location determines everything about your stay.

The island is located within the Exuma chain, surrounded by shallow banks, clear waterways and a series of small islands easily accessible by boat. The water here constantly changes color, from bright turquoise on sandbanks to deeper blues where channels open, and its visual range becomes part of the everyday experience.

From the island you can reach many of the Exumas’ best-known stops within a few minutes. a day on the water

A typical day starts slowly.

Wake up, prepare breakfast and spend some time on the terrace before heading to the pier. The cooler is packed, the boat is ready, and the route is up to you.

You might start with a short run to Pig Beach, where pigs gather near the waterline. From there, continue to the Thunderball Grotto, anchor outside and swim through the opening into the cave.

Later, at low tide, you’ll find sandbanks, where the water stays shallow and clear for a long time. Stay as long as you like and then move on.

You will return to the island by mid-afternoon. The return journey feels leisurely, and the island is quiet once you arrive.

Dinner brings small groups together, but the atmosphere remains consistent throughout the day.

Nothing is rushed.

What sets us apart

There are all-inclusive resorts throughout the Caribbean, as well as private islands and villa rentals with boat access.

Fowl Cay combines these elements in a way that feels complete.

There is a private island with a limited number of villas. We have a completely all-inclusive structure that includes all meals, drinks and daily requirements. And you’ll have your own boat with unlimited fuel, giving you direct access to the surrounding islands.

That combination puts it in a category of its own.

This is not a traditional resort stay, nor is it a stand-alone villa rental. These are two versions designed around independence and accessibility.

the island itself

Back at Fowl Cay, the setup is still simple.

that Hill House Restaurant and Bar Although it serves as a central gathering place in the evenings, the island doesn’t feel as centralized as larger resorts.

You can spend some time alone or join a few other guests for dinner and conversation.

Balance is built into the layout.

Who is it suitable for?

Fowl Cay is designed for travelers who want a more personal and self-directed experience.

Couples use it as a retreat, drawn by its quietness and ability to move at their own pace. Families can explore together using multi-bedroom villas and boats. You and your friends can take advantage of multiple villas to use the island as a shared base.

The experience does not depend on programming or multiple locations. It was built around a few key elements – private villas, all-inclusive structures and direct access to the water – and we continue to focus on these elements.

How to get there

The journey begins by plane International Airport of Great ExumaThen, take a short trip to the dock and take a boat to Fowl Cay.

Transitions feel quick but distinct.

In a short period of time, you will be transported away from the main island and into an environment where everything is already set up.

Your villa is in stock. The boat is ready. The Exumas are just beyond the docks.

And from that point on, the experience follows your lead.

American Airlines flights from Miami (nonstop to Exuma) currently cost around $325 round trip based on what I see on Google Flights.
