Here’s why it’s important to thoroughly clean your dryer:
According to the U.S. Fire Administration:
- 2,900 home clothes dryer fires Reported annually and expected 5 dead, 100 injured, $35 million in damage property loss.
- Not cleaning the dryer (34%) Main causes of household clothes dryer fires.

Talk about risk! Angela was professionally cleaned, take a look at the before and after photos.
I purchased this dryer vent cleaner last year after professionally cleaning dryer vent systems and learning about the dangers of dryer fires. I’ve always diligently cleaned out the dryer lint by hand before loading a new load of laundry, but I’ve always been frustrated by the lint I can’t reach and remove.
This was a cheap and very easy solution for me as it simply attaches to the hose of my vacuum cleaner (I use a central vacuum cleaner system) and any excess lint is sucked directly into the vacuum system for quick removal.
It’s also a great attachment to use when vacuuming hard-to-reach places around the house (e.g. small cracks/under the refrigerator, sofa, etc.) and/or inside the car (under the seats). The only downside is that the tube is so bendable and flexible that it can sometimes be difficult to point it in the right direction, but that problem seems to have been solved in the latest version! 👏
It’s the ideal tool for keeping your home safe between professional cleanings, and it’s so affordable and easy to buy!
Still not convinced? Here’s what Consumer Reports says about similar dryer vent cleaners:
What they confirmed:
“On one dryer, we tried three different methods in sequence, collecting and weighing the amount of lint removed. First, we disassembled the duct and reached into every nook and cranny to remove the lint. Then we used a vacuum and crevice tool. Then we used the Lint Lizard. On the second dryer, we simply compared the amount of lint collected by the vacuum and crevice tool with the amount of lint collected by the Lint Lizard.”
Their verdict:
“It’s almost like a magic wand! Our hands removed 8 grams of lint. A vacuum and crevice tool sucked up another 4 grams. And what about lint lizards? Another 15 grams. In the second dryer, 0.3 g of lint was removed using a crevice tool and a vacuum cleaner, resulting in the fluff lizard swallowing 52 g.
Cons: The Lizard has sharply angled ends and a bend in the hose, which leaves some fluff in some corners and surfaces and may not fit into the very narrow openings of some dryers. Sharp tips may harm plastic ducts (but it is best to use metal dryer ducts).”
