There aren’t many all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana designed this way.
Instead of one crowded center, there are multiple pools spread out across the site. There is a water park within reach, but it cannot be used all day. A path that keeps families moving between spaces instead of settling in one place.
That’s the idea behind the opening of the newest resort in one of Punta Cana’s most sought-after areas.
A new resort in a proven destination
If you’ve been to Punta Cana recently, you’ve probably heard of it at least once. Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort, Spa & CasinoAs we reported, we’re adding a trio of new all-inclusive Dominican Republic resorts this spring.
It’s one of the destination’s most consistently booked resorts, especially for families who plan ahead. Guests return with a clear understanding of how they want to use their accommodations, and rooms tend to fill well in advance of peak travel periods.
Now that same footprint is expanding.
Opening in May 2026, Lopesan Splash Cove Resort, Spa & Casino A new family-focused option is offered at the Lopesan complex, a 244-room all-inclusive resort designed for multi-generational travel.
Although they are separate resorts in the same destination, you don’t feel isolated. The design leans into the idea that different types of travelers can stay in the same place and experience it in their own way.
All-day layout
The design centers around water, but not in a typical way.
Instead of a single focal point, eight swimming pools are distributed throughout the building. Some are set up for activities and have open areas for swimming and group use. Others are quieter, with loungers and shaded areas located slightly away from the busiest areas.
A private children’s pool gives younger guests their own space while still having a view of the rest of the resort.
Rather than starting on its own, a water park adds another layer by placing slides and splash areas within the same overall layout.
Walkways connect each part of the property through landscaped grounds, making distances short and easy to navigate. Spend time in one area, move to another, and come back later without having to plan.
Different parts of the day are formed in different locations without separating the groups.
One building, clear view
All 244 rooms are located in a single 5-story building.
Then everything is close and easy to follow.
Elevators replace long walks between buildings, and transitions from rooms to shared spaces happen quickly. Step outside and the main pool area and gardens are right in front of you.
Find out where the activity is happening and where it’s quieter, then head in that direction rather than across the entire building.
This simplifies the experience, especially when everyone in the group moves at a different pace.
Rooms that reflect the way your family travels
Accommodation is designed with families in mind.
There are connecting rooms, larger layouts, and two-bedroom options that allow groups to stay together but still have separate space when needed. Perfect for parents traveling with children and large families sharing an extended stay.
The interior design is kept clean and bright. They have white bedding, simple finishes and an outside-facing terrace or balcony.
The balcony opens onto the pool and gardens so you always know what’s going on throughout the resort.
The room configuration reflects how the resort will be used.
Most categories consist of Family Junior Suites with a king-size bed or two queen-size beds and a terrace that opens onto the pool, garden or water park.
Some rooms overlook the water park directly, allowing you to see parts of the resort throughout the day. Others encounter quiet zones where speeds are slow and sounds are muted.
The balcony opens onto the pool and gardens so you always know what’s going on throughout the resort.
There are also swim-up suites where the terrace opens directly to the pool, allowing families to move between their room and the water without leaving the space.
For larger groups, the layout expands to connecting suites and multi-bedroom options, combining king and double queen configurations, separate living areas and larger terraces.
Dining that moves with you
Dining follows the same pattern as the rest of the resort.
Restaurants and bars are not concentrated in one location but are spread throughout the property, offering a variety of atmospheres throughout the day. Move between the two depending on your mood, no need to plan ahead.
Some meals are quicker and more casual. Others are a little longer. The settings change, but the distance doesn’t.
Even if plans change, everyone can stay in the same rhythm.
access to bigger things
A stay at Splash Cove connects you to the wider world. Lopesan Costa Bavaro ComplexThis is where the experience extends beyond a single resort.
Additional pools, water parks, restaurants and common areas are all within reach, giving you more than one environment to explore during your stay.
You could spend the morning at Splash Cove, then go elsewhere in the complex in the afternoon and come back later.
Different ages, different preferences, same location.
The road after dark
Dinners here take on different forms, mainly due to the following reasons: The Boulevard.
The Boulevard runs through the complex, an outdoor promenade lined with restaurants, shops, bars and entertainment venues. It feels more like a shared gathering space than a single location.
After dinner, the family goes outside for a walk.
You can see groups stopping for dessert, moving between shops, pausing for drinks and moving on. The kids stay engaged. Adults don’t have to choose whether to leave or stay in one place.
Your nights will be a little longer without having to make an itinerary.
Beach access at your disposal
Splash Cove is located approximately 720 meters from Bavaro Beach.
The coastline is easy to access, so you can spend part of your day by the water and then return to the resort’s pool area when you want to spend some more leisurely time.
Move between the two without overthinking it.
Why this opening stands out
There is no shortage of family resorts in Punta Cana, but few resorts do this level of justice.
Splash Cove was built specifically for families within an already in-demand complex, with a layout that allows different types of travelers to stay connected without having to do the same thing all day.
It builds on features that are already working while providing a clearer look.
That’s why it’s already one of the most anticipated openings in the Dominican Republic this year.
How to Get to Punta Cana
Lopesan Splash Cove is located in the Bavaro district of Punta Cana, approximately 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport.
It is one of the busiest airports in the Caribbean and offers direct flights from major cities throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Regular service departs from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Charlotte, Toronto and Montreal, with increasing service to other markets.
Once you land, transportation to the resort area is quick, taking less than 30 minutes for most vehicles.
Currently in the second week of May, I found flights from Miami to Punta Cana on Frontier for about $271 via Google Flights. This is some of the best Caribbean fare I’ve seen in a while.
Lopesan Splash Cove Prices
I found a room rate for a family junior suite with tropical views at Splash Cove in June for about $364.50 per night, which is certainly an attractive price. A swim-up family junior suite (direct pool access) costs approximately $503.36 per night. As we always recommend, it’s worth splurging on.
