Some passengers were evacuated from the MV Hondius cruise ship off Cape Verde.
An outbreak of hantavirus, which is transmitted by rodents, occurred on the MV Hondius, which departed Argentina on April 1.
Three passengers on the ship died, and several others are sick or showing symptoms.
The cruise ship is scheduled to depart Cape Verde and move to the Canary Islands after evacuation.
