Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers said he was closely monitoring the case.

“We are praying for the children, educators and the entire Abundant Life School community as we await more information and are thankful for the first responders who are responding quickly,” Evers said in a statement to X.

The White House said President Joe Biden had been notified and senior officials were in contact with local authorities.

Shootings are common in the United States, and schools are no exception.
