
After 25 days, Apple and Google restored Tiktok in the evening of Thrusday. Both companies removed the app from the App Store and Play Store on January 18 in response to national security laws.
Other Bytedance apps, such as the Video Editor Capcut and Social App Lemon8, have also been restored from these App Store. Apple, who posted a rare support document that describes these removal in detail, has deleted the current support document.
On January 19, Tiktok began to restore the service to existing users, but Apple and Google kept the app out of the store. It would have not been able to get it if you had removed the tiktok. Earlier this month, Tiktok urged Android users to absent the app through the website.
President Donald Trump signed an administrative order to provide the 75 -day life line in the office. Within this 75th, BYTEDANCE must sell tiktok to US organizations or face prohibitions.
Trump said last month that the United States wants to account for 50%of Tiktok with other companies in a joint venture. He also took office as a US sovereign fund to participate in Tiktok’s transactions.
Last month, CNBC reported that Tiktok’s traffic was restored almost 90% in the first half, according to Cloudflare Radar data. But rival social networks are uncertain this bank. X and Bluesky launched a dedicated vertical video feed, and META released a video editing app to compete with the capture.
According to the data from Analytics Firm Sensor Tower, Tiktok was the second most downloaded app last year with 55 million downloads.
