At recent World Trade Organization (WTO) meetings, issues raised related to food safety continued to increase.
Participants at the June meeting on WTO sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures addressed 79 trade issues related to food safety and plant and animal health. 76 topics were covered in March 2026, an increase from 71 topics in November 2025.
