Tria 4X Home Laser Hair Removal Device: Is It Effective and Safe? Are laser and IPL correct?
If you’re wondering whether at-home laser hair removal actually works, I’ve been testing the Tria 4X laser hair removal machine for the past 90 days. Unlike IPL devices, Tria uses true laser technology designed to provide longer-lasting results for more precise, permanent hair removal. To really test it out, I used the Tria 4X on several areas, including my armpits, bikini line, and legs. In this article, we share our honest Tria 4X Laser Hair Removal review of the new Tria 4X 2nd Generation, including 3-month before and after results, whether there is any pain, how long the procedure takes, laser hair removal vs IPL, and whether it’s really worth the investment. We’ll also share why Tria 4X is the best home laser hair removal device, and if you’re thinking of trying it out for yourself, don’t forget to use code EVED to get 10% off Tria Laser Hair Removal Device.

Why I switched to Tria laser hair removal at home vs. shaving
I’ve been shaving for over 30 years, and it’s not just about the time it takes, but also the constant maintenance, traveling with the razor, dealing with ingrown hairs and removing self-tanner. After years of that routine, I started looking for a more permanent solution.
I’ve tried waxing, but I hate having to let my hair grow back before every appointment and having to take the time to go to the salon. I too tried in-office laser hair removal over 20 years ago, but at the time the technique was not effective on finer hair. So when I discovered the Tria 4X Laser Hair Removal Machine, the only home device that uses actual laser technology rather than IPL, I was curious to see if technology had advanced. As a beauty editor, I’m always testing new beauty gadgets and treatments to share the best options with you, so I decided to give them a try.

It also takes much less time and is much cheaper than going to the hospital and having surgery. And after seeing my results I can’t imagine it getting any better or faster considering how ‘bald’ I am now.
Tria 4X VS Salon Laser Hair Removal Cost:
clinic laser: Armpits: $60–$150 per session | Full Leg: $250+ per session | Bikini: $55-139. Total Course: $800–$3500+
Tria 4X: $540.00 (including Discoin EVED) 1 device – unlimited treatments. This is definitely a money-saving investment.
How Tria 4X laser hair removal device differs from IPL hair removal device
Although 24 million people a year search for “laser hair removal” devices, virtually all devices sold for home use are actually IPL (intense pulsed light) devices and not true lasers. As mentioned earlier, the technologies are fundamentally different. IPL hair removal does not provide the same clinical grade permanent results as laser hair removal. However, making a real laser for home use is not the easiest task. This is why most of the devices commonly found in the market these days are IPL.
How At-Home Laser Hair Removal Works
TRIA 4X is the only laser hair removal device for home use. It’s powerful, effective, FDA approved, backed by clinical research, and incredibly easy to use. TRIA 4X is the only home device that uses actual clinical-grade laser technology. This will give you the permanent results you are looking for. Unlike IPL devices, this delivers targeted laser energy that penetrates hair follicles to provide soothing, lasting hair reduction. After using it myself, I could see how convenient, safe, and efficient it is.

What is the difference between Laser Hair Removal and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)? Tria 4X Laser Hair Removal vs IPL
When comparing laser hair removal and IPL, the biggest difference is precision and results. True laser hair removal uses a single, focused wavelength that targets hair follicles much more effectively. In contrast, IPL relies on a broad spectrum of light to dissipate energy, often resulting in a lack of precision and inconsistent results. This is why laser hair removal is generally more effective than IPL. This is especially true for long-term hair removal, fewer sessions, and predictable results, regardless of whether the treatment is done in a clinic or at home. I’m finally ready to ditch the razor for permanent hair removal. I was also interested in seeing if it actually worked!
The main differences between laser hair removal and IPL are:

Is Tria 4X the best home laser hair removal device?
To be honest, I was very impressed with the results. It’s one thing to know it’s backed by clinical research, but it’s another thing to know how well the TRIA 4X laser device performs after just a few sessions. Below are some of the clinical trial results.
- Up to 100% hair reduction in 8 treatments†
- Visible results in just two treatments (up to 75% hair reduction)††
- *Tria 4X delivers up to 233% more power than IPL.** More power = more hair removed.
†Based on user self-assessment scores during an independent clinical trial of 21 participants.
††Based on an independent clinical trial of 52 participants, subjects chose their fluence (low, medium, or high). Experts assessed hair count three weeks after each treatment.
*Permanent results are defined as ‘permanent reduction in hair regrowth’. This means that there will be a steady reduction in hair count over a long period of time after a full course of laser treatment. **Based on maximum output as described in the user manual. Tria 4X is 20J/cm2, Braun Silk i-Expert Pro 7 is 6.5J/cm2 and Philips Lumea 9000 series is 6J/cm2.

Yes. I consider Tria the best home laser hair removal device.
Tria 4X Home Laser Hair Removal Review | Around 90 days
In this video, our Tria review covers whether the Tria 4X Hair Removal Laser is really worth the money. Here are my honest thoughts after 3 months of consistent use: the differences between real laser and IPL technology, how to use the Tria 4X, if it’s painful, why I stopped shaving, how long it actually takes to heal, and most importantly, the results after 7 sessions! If you’re tired of shaving and wondering if at-home laser hair removal actually works for permanent hair removal, watch this.
Does Tria 4X at-home laser hair removal work? Benefits, before and after results
So the main benefit is definitely permanent hair removal and I am very impressed with the results. After the 3rd session I wanted to stop because I only had 4 hairs left under one armpit and 3 on the other, but the recommended session is to treat once every two weeks for 3 months and then top up for another 3 months as needed. So, we will follow through to the end to ensure you get the best results.
sorry. I didn’t take pictures of my armpits or bikini line and no one wants to see that! However, only one leg was treated to show the before and after results. This is what I do to show you the results and see what actually works and what doesn’t! Now that you don’t plan on shaving one leg for the rest of your life, why not give the other one a treat too!

The first session takes some time to get to know the device and make sure you hit all the areas, and is the most painful because that’s when you’ll have the most hair. But the time went faster, so I shortened the treatment (approximately 900 pulses) to 15 minutes for the armpits, bikini line, and lower right leg.
Other benefits include that it costs less than clinic hair removal and takes less time than shaving and waxing. And all the other reasons I’ve mentioned before for wanting to quit shaving – I’m not always smooth and blunt, and my armpits aren’t gray anymore!
Does laser hair removal hurt?
This will depend on the level you use on the Tria 4X Laser Hair Removal Device (5 levels), the amount, color and thickness of your hair, and your pain tolerance. But there are ways to help, and each treatment will be much less painful because there are fewer hairs to prick.
To reduce pain, you can use Tria Soothing and Hydrating Gel or reduce the intensity. I started around step 2 without using gel. Some parts could go up to level 5, but some parts were definitely spicier than others. But honestly, by the 4th treatment, I was able to use it at power level 4-5 in most places.

Is laser hair removal safe?
As with most beauty treatments, there are things you need to do to ensure safety. For example, use it at the recommended frequency and only in the recommended areas. One of the Tria safety features I appreciate is the laser, which can even test your skin color to see if it’s compatible, unlocking the device to begin treatment. Otherwise it will not unlock.
