The previous ceasefire contract between Israel and Hamas, which began on January 19, was set to have three stages, but did not pass the first step.

The second stage included permanent ceasefire, the return of living hostages remaining in return with the Palestinians imprisoned in Israel, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces in Gaza.
