Two Palantir veterans wake up with million and the Sequoia seal of approval.

Edra, a New York-based startup that says it helps companies automate workflows by turning existing operational data into a living knowledge base, received a significant vote of confidence. A $30 million Series A led by Sequoia with participation from A* and 8VC, a venture firm founded by serial entrepreneur Kevin Hartz.

Entrepreneurs are worth taking note of. Eugen Alpeza and Yannis Karamanlakis met in college 13 years ago and said they went independent after spending several years at Palantir. Alpeza built key commercial accounts and led the launch of Palantir’s AI platform. Karamanlakis was the company’s first forward-deployed AI engineer, focused on transitioning AI models from demo to real-world production.

The problem they are dealing with is simple. Businesses have a ton of valuable operational data – emails, logs, support tickets, chat history – but no way to do anything about it. Edra says it automatically analyzes that data, builds a knowledge base, and continually updates it. Current use cases focus on IT service management and customer support. Customers already include HubSpot, ASOS, Cushman & Wakefield and easyJet.
