Tyson Fury: 'No collision course' with Anthony Joshua if he doesn't beat Oleksandr Usyk, says manager | Boxing News

Two-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is expected to attend the fight between Anthony Joshua and Daniel DuBois on September 21.

Fury lost the WBC title to Oleksandr Usyk in a four-belt unification bout in May, but when Fury and Usyk rematched in December, the Ukrainian was forced to vacate the IBF championship.

Formerly the IBF interim titlist, Dubois has been promoted to full champion and will now face Joshua live at Wembley Stadium. Sky Sports Box Office.

Fury told Fury the fight with Oleksandr Usyk was “too easy” for him despite suffering his first professional loss in a world title fight.

Fury has a long-standing rivalry with Joshua, but he will likely back DuBois for the September 21 fight.

Fury's manager Spencer Brown said: Sky Sports: “I think he's a good friend of Daniel DuBois, and of course he's in the same PR company. But I think Tyson just wants to see a good fight. Who is he rooting for? Probably Daniel DuBois.”

The winner of Joshua and Dubois would be a huge attraction for the British delegation in their showdown with Fury.

Fury has broken his silence for the first time since his loss to Usyk and said he is ready to reclaim his title.

But Fury, 35, won't be planning to fight the AJ-Dubois winner just yet – his focus is on the Usyk rematch.

“I think we have to work this out. There's no collision course if he doesn't win his next fight, so it's imperative that he beats Usyk,” Brown said.

He is confident Fury can make the necessary adjustments to defeat Yusik in their second fight.

Former WBA world champion George Groves said Fury's showboating didn't play a role in his loss to Usyk.

“There won't be any changes to management or the team, but there will be other things to look at from a training perspective,” Brown added.

“Based on the last fight, it could have gone either way. Some people will say Usyk was ahead by three rounds, some people will say no. Opinions on boxing are yours. That's why we love boxing.

“But Tyson Fury will come back. He'll take the shot and we'll see a new, better, improved Tyson Fury.

“I don't know how much he can improve at that age, but there was little difference in the fight between them. So let's cheer for our British player. I'm sure he will win. Then we'll talk about the next step.”
