UK Open 2026: Beau Greaves draws against Darryl Pilgrim as Luke Littler defends Minehead title | dart news

Beau Greaves drew against Darryl Pilgrim in the opening round of the UK Open, with Luke Littler returning as the defending champion.

Greaves will compete in the 160-man field at Butlin’s Minehead Resort from March 6-8, which will see 16-year-old Kyle Gilding take on Sam Spivey and 20-year-old Charlie Manby take on Swiss No.1 Stefan Bellmont.

Current champion Littler and world number one Luke Humphries will join the remaining top 32 players as the four-round tournament begins on Friday evening.

Hometown hero Josh Rock hit a stunning nine-darter against Gian van Veen on Day 4 of the Premier League in Belfast.

Their challenge begins with that of former champions Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, Danny Noppert, James Wade, Nathan Aspinall, Dimitri Van den Bergh and Andrew Gilding, who will also take part in round four.

Greaves, who reached the fourth round on his UK Open debut last year, recently hit a 9-darter in the Players Championship Six in Leicester.

Amateur qualifier Aden Kirk returns to Minehead to face Mervyn King, having beaten Phil Taylor, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price on his tournament debut in 2014.

Former world champion Wright, who recently dropped out of the top 32, joins Raymond van Barneveld in round three. Wright, the 2017 winner, is likely to face Lithuania’s Darius Labanauskas, while Callum Francis and Maximilian Czerwinski are also vying for the right to play the Scottish icon.

Luke Littler scores 112 before handing it back to the crowd shortly after being taunted by Belfast darts fans.

Meanwhile, Van Barneveld, who won back-to-back UK Open titles in 2006 and 2007, faces a tough test against Czech No.1 Karel Sedlacek.

Ricky Evans will face former World Grand Prix runner-up Brendan Dolan, while former Masters champion Joe Cullen will face either Cam Crabtree, Pascal Rupprecht or Jenson Walker.

After Round 3 on Friday afternoon, a public draw for Round 4 will be held live on the main stage, with additional draws taking place for each subsequent round.
