Monaco’s government said three injured people were taken to a hospital in Nice, a city near France.
Prince Albert II of Monaco described the incident as a “heinous crime” and “a shock to the entire Monaco community.”
He said “all relevant state services are currently being mobilized” in coordination with the relevant French authorities.
Yermolaiev is a wealthy real estate developer from Dnipro, Ukraine’s fourth largest city.
He is now a Cypriot citizen after giving up his Ukrainian citizenship in 2019.
He was sanctioned by Ukraine in December 2023.
He was ranked the 39th richest person in Ukraine by Forbes magazine in 2020, with a fortune of $230 million (£173.8m).
