United Airlines has once again suspended flights to Tel Aviv following Iran's missile attack on Israel on April 13.
United also canceled Tuesday's departure from Washington Dulles to Jordan.
“We will closely monitor the situation and make decisions about future flights with a focus on the safety of our customers and crew,” the airline said.
United has moved crews out of the area with plans to return once it is deemed safe.
Passengers who booked flights from United to Tel Aviv by May 1 can cancel and receive a full refund.
United was the only American airline serving Israel. After suspending operations in October last year when Hamas attacked Israel and sparked a war, the Newark-Tel Aviv flight resumed in March. Delta Air Lines plans to resume service to Israel in June.
Meanwhile, Israel's flag carrier El AL continued to operate all U.S. routes over the weekend and plans to launch a twice-weekly route between Fort Lauderdale and Tel Aviv on Monday. El Al is operating 10 flights between the U.S. and Israel on Monday, including five from New York JFK, two from Newark and one each from Los Angeles, Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
El AL customers who booked travel between April 13 and April 20 can rebook for free until April 20. El Al offers travel credits but no refunds to customers who cancel their trips.
“El Al is doing its best to maintain its full flight schedule and not cancel flights during these difficult times,” said airline spokeswoman Ellie Rosenfeld. “We are offering a full range of vouchers to help our passengers make comfortable decisions for themselves and their families and visit Israel at a more convenient time.”
