
The US Open reaches its quarterfinals on Tuesday at Flushing Meadows, and the action will be broadcast live. Sky Sports.
The United States will be represented in the quarterfinals by Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe and Emma Navarro.
Fritz faces Alexander Zverev and Tiafoe faces Griger Dimitrov in the men's quarterfinals. In the women's quarterfinals on Tuesday, Paula Badosa faces Navarro and Arina Sabalenka faces Zheng Chin-wen.
Tiafoe He established himself as one of the main entertainers of the US Open after a thrilling five-set victory over fellow American Ben Shelton. He then defeated Alexei Popyrin, while the Australian player recorded a stunning victory over Novak Djokovic.
Tiafoe, seeded 20th, will be looking to match his best performance at a Grand Slam when he faces ninth seed Dimitrov for a spot in the final four.
Tiafoe lost to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in the 2022 semifinals. He became the first American male player to reach three consecutive US Open quarterfinals since Andy Roddick, who also became the last American male to win a home Slam in 2003.
“Watching the Williams sisters win titles here, watching Roger (Federer) win a million times, I knew I wanted to play on this court. It’s so iconic. It’s named after Arthur Ashe, of course,” he said.
“I wanted to be a part of it, and it brought out the best in me.”
“I'm literally living day by day,” Tiafoe said. “A Grand Slam, two weeks, there's a lot going on.
“You can't go ahead and see what's going to happen, how things are going to turn out. Everybody's doing well, so it doesn't matter who gets in or who doesn't.”
Bulgaria's Dimitrov has defeated sixth seed Andrey Rublev's comeback attempt to reach the US Open quarter-finals for the first time since 2019.
Navarro She reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the second time in her career, and for the first time at the US Open after beating defending champion Coco Gauff in her last match.
“It’s my hometown and it’s really special to be playing here,” Navarro said.
