U.S. Vice President JD Vance took issue with Pope Leo’s public debate with President Donald Trump over the war with Iran.
At a Turning Point USA event in Georgia, hecklers in the crowd yelled at Vance after he scolded the pope to “be careful when you talk about theological issues.”
Pope Leo, America’s first pope, repeatedly condemned the war in Iran, saying it had led to “outrageous and inhumane violence.”
The pope said Monday he has “no fear” about the Trump administration or “speaking loudly the message of the Gospel.”
