Although Injuba is not a prison where most political prisoners are typically held, Venezuela’s Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners expressed solidarity with prisoners there, claiming that “punishment, starvation, solitary confinement, torture and inhumane conditions” are being used to control and subdue prisoners and “form part of the prison policy.”
