VERNNA is a clothing, jewelry, accessories and home decoration brand. We strive to bring natural elements to our limited edition capsule collections. Not only are the garments made from luxurious materials, but they are also made from discarded tapestries and cushions. Designer Barbara Vernengo highlights the concept of slow fashion while explaining the details of her brand. “It’s the exact opposite of fast fashion.“She tells us.”It’s timeless. It’s classic. I want my customers to come in and really feel the quality of the fabrics I use.. This will allow you to purchase items you can’t find anywhere else..”
When asked where she gets inspiration for her work, she quickly answered:I am inspired by nature and fabrics. For example, I pride myself on being a ‘fabric finder’.‘ I love how you can find a piece of fabric and transform it into a whole new piece of art.“But she also pointed out that it is difficult to sustain this creativity in a world of commercialism.”I make a conscious effort to prioritize quality and originality in all of my collections. I am also motivated to promote sustainability and want to be sustainable in a world that doesn’t always work.”
VERNNA also represents the talented women of the Bárbara family. Her sister Lucia Vernengo is a jewelry designer at VERNNA. Her mother and aunt also hand-weave unique pieces for the brand. Looking forward to the future, Barbara hopes to expand. “I am ready to create more home decorations and play with ideas of experimentation and art..”
