Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted he is “concerned” about Viktor Gyoqueres’ injury after he did not travel to Slavia Prague for the Champions League match.

Gyokeres picked up the injury at half-time in the 2-0 win over Burnley and did not travel to the Czech Republic to play Arsenal on Tuesday night.

“He is definitely unavailable,” Arteta said. “He did not train today and we need to carry out further tests and scans over the next few days to understand the full extent of the injury. He will be unavailable for this match.”

Asked if he was worried or if this was a short-term problem, Arteta replied: “I’m worried, because he didn’t have much of a muscle problem, he had to come off the pitch and he was feeling something.”

“It’s never a good sign for an explosive player. We’re digging a little deeper to understand the extent of the injury and where he is at.”
