Viking will be offering three tours in China this fall.

Two packages combining land and cruise travel range from 10 to 20 days and include stops in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, as well as sailing to ports Viking says are accessible.

The China Discovery Cruise sails along the coast for 10 days from Shanghai to Hong Kong (Shenzhen), stopping in Zhoushan, Dongtou, Pingtan, Xiamen and Shenzhen.

The Classic China and the Coast package lasts 15 days and includes flights from Beijing to Xi’an, followed by flights to Shanghai and then a boat ride. The sea portion of the itinerary is the same as the ports of call on the China Discovery itinerary.

The Wonders of China itinerary also combines land travel with cruise travel. The trip begins in Beijing and continues with flights to Shanghai. The cruise includes a call at the China Discovery itinerary. The itinerary also includes flights to Chengdu, Lhasa, and Xi'an, and a return flight to Beijing.

The new itineraries are available from September through November and include cruises on the Viking Yi Dun, formerly Viking Sun.

In 2019, Viking announced a joint venture with China Merchants Group to offer Viking ocean cruises to Chinese travelers. According to Cruise Industry News, China Merchants Viking Cruises acquired Yi Dun in 2021.
