Vital Farms Adds Chief Supply Chain Officer Role

According to an August 20 press release, Vital Farms has appointed Joe Holland as chief supply chain officer, a new role for the company that will be effective September 1.

Holland leads Vital Farms’ diversified supply chain team, including the company’s egg washing and packing facility (known as Egg Central Station) in Springfield, Mo. He will also lead dairy operations for the company’s future facility in Seymour, Ind., and its growing butter business.

The supply chain executive will also assume the duties previously held by former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jason Dale, who has served as COO since 2019 but will continue in an advisory role through the end of 2024, according to a press release.

Prior to joining Vital Farms, Holland served as EVP of Operations and Supply Chain at Curaleaf Holdings, a consumer cannabis products provider. He has over 25 years of operational experience in various supply chain and distribution roles at Dean Foods, Cadbury Schweppes, and Ventura Foods.

“Joe’s unwavering commitment to our principles of service, quality and cost will help us innovate and deliver long-term resilience across our supply chain,” Russell Diez-Canseco, Vital Farms’ CEO and president, said in a news release. “I’m excited to have Joe dive into the incredible work our supply chain team is already doing every day as we continue to expand our leadership in ethical food and move toward our goal of $1 billion in net revenue by 2027.”
