The riders have fallen as a result of protest, and some say they are worried about safety.
Last week, Israel-Premier Technology began racing with a modified uniform that did not show the team’s name.
The organizer said:
“The race is officially over and Jonas Vingergaard is the winner.”
The protesters threw water bottles and other objects to the police, and the crash continued after the race was abandoned.
The race organizer has already shortened the 21st and final stages of Vuelta from 111.6 km to 103.6 km.
The organizer did not specify the reason for the deleted section, which would cross Aravaca’s sewing Madrid.
Brian Smith, a bicycle journalist, told the BBC Sports: “A few days ago when the protesters stopped the stage to Bilbao a few days ago (there may be confusion).
“So there’s always containment and all the riders voted to ride to Madrid. They knew that something could happen.”
On October 7, 2023, after the Israeli army, which started campaigns in Gaza, in response to Hamas -led attacks on southern Israel, the protests were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said he admired the protesters when he spoke before the last stage of Sunday.
Sanchez spoke to the socialist party rally in the southern city of Malaga. “Our respect and recognition of athletes and our respect for the Spanish people who mobilize the same cause as Palestine.”
