There are many minority and step counter apps around the world, but this new app has fun twist. Walkstar, which started on Tuesday at the App Store, synchronizes music and synchronization to improve exercise. The moment you stop, the music is a perfect motivation for those who want to disappear and maintain an active lifestyle.
When you walk or run for at least 10 seconds, the music starts to play. If you detect that the app hasn’t moved, the music will stop. When you start moving again, your play is resumed.
This app was written by Greg Gardner, an app that allows iPhone users to start the app, perform action, or access the website with a single tab.
Gardner shared with Techcrunch to observe the online that combines the Old Sony Walkman with the Bowe and get an idea for Walkstar. Through this, the device was able to play music only while the user was walking. (Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the original post.)
“I thought it was really clever, I realized that I could achieve the same thing with the iPhone app, and it could be a really good motivation tool to encourage people to walk more.
One of the especially interesting aspects of Walkstar is a retro -style interface, and converts a mobile phone into a gorgeous portable cassette player reminiscent of an old workman. At the beginning of the music, the sound tape heath is added to the nostalgic touch.

Other neat features include leader boards and achievements, including the integration of the game center. In addition, there is an integration of shortcuts to start and stop walking sessions among live activity widgets and other features to track the number of steps and distances.
The app can be downloaded for free, but there is also a premium subscription to customize the app with a gorgeous app icon and cassette tape cover. In addition, premium members can see the analysis, including the total number of steps and walking records.
In the future, Gardner plans to introduce more features that people can share their development and compete with their friends. If the app gains enough popularity, you can also consider developing Android versions.

Walkstar is currently compatible with Apple services, including Apple Music, Apple Podcast, Apple Books and ITUNES. The user can listen to music that loads the device manually through the Apple Music app.
Gardner is looking for the possibility of adding more music streaming integration, and Spotify is the first goal. The test version with Spotify is currently under review in the App Store.
Gardner said, “We have been approved in the next few months.
