Yale University’s study shows that a wide range of earthen walls are built around the surrounding means of Sudan-Sudan, El-Pasher, and are to be trapped inside.
In satellite images, the university’s humanitarian research laboratory confirmed the “Berms” of 31km (19 miles), which was built in May from May, from the city, which was occupied by the Paramilitation Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since May.
EL-FASHER has been attacked for more than a year, and is the last main foothold of Darfur, the army of the army, which has been fighting RSF since April 2023.
Sudan Dr. Network told the BBC that RSF strengthened its attack and intentionally aimed at civilians.
Dr. MOHAMED FAISAL HASSAN of Medics Association said on the BBC’s news day program, “Yesterday there was a bombardment in the civilian area of the City Center, and 55 of them were injured.
He said that attacks on the central market and residential areas are “intentional” and “serious”.
“Three days ago, they aimed at one of the largest hospitals in El-Pasher and caused a massacre of patients and medical staff.”
The BBC Verify says both sides of the conflict use BERM as a defense strategy.
However, the analysis of Yale’s Humanitarian Institute (HRL), which is closely monitoring the conflict, suggests that RSF is “creating literally kill boxes around El-thread.”
HRL tracked the construction of the soil wall with an El-Fasher will.
- Green line: 9km built between July 14 and 24, 2025 (the satellite image shows Alsen Village in this stretch)
- Yellow Line: 6km between August 3 and 19, 2025
- Blue Line: 7km between May 5 and July 12, 2025
- Red Line: The construction is currently under construction between August 13-27, 2025.
According to the HRL report, the physical boundaries deepen the siege and control of who and what they can enter in a city where about 300,000 people live.
After the dispute exploded, Darpur’s RSF fighter and the Allied Arab militia were accused of targeting people of national groups other than Arabs.
“Some civilians are trying to escape the city,” said Dr. Hassan.
RSF has previously been charged with civilian aiming for civilians and carrying out national purification.
Berms are complicated for civilians who want to run away, food, medicines and other essential items.
Humanitarian groups have not been able to access El-Pashers for several months, and the rest of the civilians continue to have constant bombing, lack of food and medical services.
It is impossible to escape to many people.
Halima Hashim, a 37 -year -old teacher and four mothers, said in the AFP news agency, “We have no money.”
She said that staying behind was like a slow death, but “leaving is dangerous.”
The HRL report pointed out that with the construction of the physical wall, RSF was “determined the necessary tactics conditions.”
The fall of EL-FASHER means that the RSF completely controls the western region of Darfur.
Observations warned that such scenarios could potentially lead to the division of the state as each war forces appointed their own governments.
According to Yale’s HRL, the construction of the soil wall is underway.
The researchers observed 22 km of pleural mucosa, forming a semicircle from the west to the north of the city.
About 9km of the wall has been extended north and south to the main roads of the east.
The segment of BERM, built through Alsen (shown in the satellite image above) shows that most of the villages were destroyed between May 20 and July 6.
In addition, the RSF bombing confirmed the damage to an important water treatment facility near the airport based on the military.
Researchers think that plants are still working despite damage.
ADEEB Abdel Rahman Youssef, a former governor of Central Darpur, appealed to the UN Security Council to protect El-Pasher’s civilians.
All politicians are currently working with NGOs with NGOs in EL-FASHER.
“El-Pasher’s civilian population pays the biggest price. Nobody will protect them,” he told the BBC World Service.
