Universe Unveils Second Flagship Game 'Hoverdome'
Hoverdrome is a blockchain-based AAA racing and combat game experience that mixes elements of Mario Kart and Rocket League. The game is currently available in pre-alpha for Windows PCs, giving gamers the opportunity to compete and win prizes through adventures.
“Hoverdrome is an exciting addition to Unioverse, combining the best elements of racing and competitive action,” said Tony Harman, founder and CEO of Random Games, the company behind Unioverse. “We’re excited to share this pre-alpha version with the community and look forward to hearing their feedback.”
The multiplayer game aims to provide players with an exciting multiverse, where players can earn rare achievements for heroes and hoverbikes, and have the freedom to create their own levels and bikes. The game also utilizes interoperable NFTs, which allow players to use assets across multiple games within the universe.
Unioverse Launches Tournaments Offering Up to $15,000 USDC
To celebrate the launch of Hoverdrome, Unioverse has announced a tournament in partnership with Polygon, offering $15,000 USDC, $300,000 UNIO, and more to lucky participants. The free-to-enter tournament will require participants to check out a Windows PC and download the game to get a share of the prize pool.
According to Wyeth Ridgeway, founder and CTO of Random Games, the tournament aims to “provide value to the Universe community” and grow its user base. The event will run from August 26 to August 31, 2024 for open qualifiers, with the live finals scheduled for August 31. Live commentary during the finals will be provided as follows: tanner_metro and Orbital CastingIn partnership with Community Gaming, we bring you two incredibly talented casters.
Additionally, this launch coincides with the launch of Univers’ third hero, Tor Gret, a powerful space marshal and “the most valuable NFT in Univers to date,” the team explained in a statement. Tor Gret becomes the third NFT to be minted, following the previously released Krisha and Leiyu NFTs. In partnership with Margik Eden on August 6, Tor Gret was minted in a limited run of just 5,000, granting instant access to the game, unique ecosystem benefits, and early access to key events — especially if you own an “Epic” or “Legendary” hero.
“Torgret is a game changer in the universe, not only as a character, but for what he brings to our community,” added Harmon. “This casting event was a huge step forward for us, and we’re excited to see how players use and appreciate this unique hero.”
Ridgway, who supports Harman, believes that the release of Tor Gret will enhance the overall gaming experience in Unioverse and “create a meaningful and valuable experience for players.”
“The Tor Gret Foundry event is a great example of this, providing significant benefits and early access that enhance the Unioverse experience,” Ridgway added.
The release of Hoverdrome and Tor Gret demonstrates the potential of Unioverse games, and provides a futuristic look at ecosystem expansion and community engagement in the ever-growing world of Web 3 games. Pre-alpha versions of the games are available for download on the Unioverse website.
